Yeah so i remembered that i didn't set the gcc version so i ctrl-c 'd it and now i'm running make clean and then i'm going to restart it with

make CC=/opt/gcc-2.95.3/bin/gcc &&
make CC=/opt/gcc-2.95.3/bin/gcc modules_install

that should do it...
